What Happened to Kaiju Alpha?

Verified against the Roblox API:

How to get back into it

  1. Search Roblox for Kaiju Alpha and check the creator: the live one is published by the group SULU OPPA.
  2. If an old bookmark or a link in your Roblox game history 404s, that is expected — it points at the previous place, not this one.
  3. The place gets renamed with every headline kaiju, so the title in your history may read something like [ Burning Godzilla ] Kaiju Alpha rather than plain Kaiju Alpha. It is the same game.

The live experience is here, and the developer group is SULU OPPA. Those two links are the only two we will vouch for; see the links page for why we do not publish a Discord invite.

The timeline

Before August 2026

Kaiju Alpha had already been running for years. Its community wiki carries in-game screenshots from 2022, and a creator video published this week frames the current patch as the game's best update in over four years.

17 August 2026

The place people play today was created. That date is not the game's birthday — it is the birthday of this copy of it.

Around 19 August 2026

Multiple Kaiju Alpha channels published videos describing the game being taken down on Roblox. The largest of them, at roughly 31,000 views, is summarised by its own author as Roblox deleting Kaiju Alpha.

Since then

The new place has passed six million visits and sits above six thousand concurrent players, and updates have kept shipping — Update 45 landed on 30 August.

Why the August date confuses everyone

Search this game and you will find two contradictory-looking facts: the Roblox API says the place was created thirteen days ago, and the community has been making Kaiju Alpha videos for years. Both are true. What is dated 17 August is this copy of the game, not the game. The community wiki carries in-game screenshots from 2022, the current patch is numbered 45, and a video published this week frames it as the best update in over four years. A brand-new Roblox place does not arrive at Update 45.

That also explains the traffic curve, which otherwise looks impossible: six million visits and 274,532 group members in under a fortnight is not a game finding an audience, it is an audience finding its game again.

What we will not tell you

There is an active argument in the community about why the takedown happened and about the people involved. We are not repeating any of it. We have not found a first-party statement, the claims name individuals, and an unverified accusation is not something a reference site should be laundering into search results. The status question — is it live, where is it, is my progress there — has answers, and those are above.

If a first-party statement appears — from the developers, from Roblox, from anyone with standing to make one — it will be linked here with its date. Until then, the answerable version of the question is above.

Is my progress still there?

We cannot verify this from outside the game and will not guess: a new place normally means a new datastore, but developers routinely carry saves across, and only the developers know which happened here. What we can tell you is that Update 45 shipped a code paying 50 levels to a kaiju already at level 100 or above, and another paying 30 million cells and 30 million EXP — both named after apologies for bugs. Codes of that size and that naming are consistent with a developer compensating for disruption. They are on the codes page, and they are worth redeeming before they expire whichever way your save went.
